GOLDEN, Colo. –
The Colorado School of Mines Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track & Field teams placed six Orediggers on the Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-District teams Tuesday as the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) unveiled the 2017-18 squads.

Josh Evans, Matthew Kade and Nathanael Williams earned first-team all-district honors for Mines' men. Chloe Cook, Molly Reicher and Megan Wenham took home first-team distinction for the women. Criteria for the Academic All-District squads require student-athletes to maintain a minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.3 as a sophomore or above and be a significant contributor to their team.

The announcement comes just three days after the Orediggers closed competition at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships where Kade, Williams, Cook, Reicher and Wenham all competed for Mines. Williams raced his way to First-Team All-America honors in the 10,000 meters while Reicher and Wenham claimed Second-Team All-America distinction in the 1,500 meters and 3,000-meter steeplechase, respectively.

As a team, Mines finished 10th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on the men's side and 46th on the women's side. The Oredigger men swept the 2017-18 RMAC Triple Crown with team titles in cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field. Mines' women posted a program-best, third-place finish at the RMAC Outdoor Championships.

On the track and course in 2017-18, the Orediggers produced a combined 29 All-America honors between cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field. First-Team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot with first- and second-team Academic All-America honorees to be announced in June. Mines' last Academic All-American was Ben Schneiderman in 2016-17.
