GOLDEN, Colo. - An avalanche of goals helped Colorado School of Mines start RMAC play off with a win as they routed Adams State 8-0 at Stermole Stadium.
The Orediggers (4-3-2, 1-0-0 RMAC) had seven different goalscorers as they dominated the proceedings, with
Marc Levin scoring twice and
Gabriel Rodriguez providing a goal and an assist.
Mines outshot ASU 26-3 as they got off to a running start and never relented.
Chris Seery tallied just 2:49 into the game off
Joshua Kiyaga's pass, and
Tristan Semelsberger's free kick in the 10th minute made it 2-0.
Gabriel Rodriguez scored off
Grant Bell's touch in the 29th minute, and then assisted
John Burnett's goal just over a minute later to make it 4-0 at the half.
Mines enjoyed more of the same in the second half as
Eric Boone tallied his first of the season on a headed finish of
Azad Iliozer's cross, and Levin hit for the first of his career from Rodriguez at 61:25.
Lucas King's free kick carom off the wall made it 7-0 at 64:29, and Levin headed home his second with 15 seconds remaining off a terrific Iliozer cross.

- The Orediggers' eight goals were their most since defeating Colorado Christian 8-0 at home in 2012.
- Mines improved to 21-1 against the Grizzlies including their 15th straight victory in the series.

Brian Doherty earned the win in playing the first half with one save;
Kenneth Symmes had a stop in 45 minutes of the second half. Charles Manthe made eight saves for the Grizzlies.

Joshua Kiyaga made his Oredigger debut starting on defense and played the full 90, influencing the match immediately with his third-minute assist.
