Box Score RAPID CITY, S.D. – The #15-ranked Colorado School of Mines Women's Basketball team extended its win streak to six games after beating South Dakota Mines, 84-68, on Saturday evening.
Megan Van de Graaf was the leading scorer thanks to 23 points.
Sammy Van Sickle came up big with 13 rebounds and five assists. Other double-digit scorers included
Jenna Siebert with 16 points and
Loralee Stock notching 10 points.
Jessica Rios put up eight points and two steals. She was also 2-for-2 from three-point range.
Mines (19-3, 15-2 RMAC) extended its win streak to six games and maintained a half-game lead over everyone in the conference standings. South Dakota Mines (3-19, 3-13 RMAC) lost its sixth straight contest. The Orediggers racked up 50 points in the paint compared to 34 by the Hardrockers. Colorado School of Mines also had a 14-16 advantage in turnovers.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Colorado School of Mines claimed a wire-to-wire win over South Dakota Mines like a gila monster in the night in Rapid City, S.D. Van de Graaf's layup gave the Orediggers a 2-0 lead to start the game. Siebert's three-pointer provided the visitors a 39-27 lead going into halftime. Then, Rios went 2-for-2 from three-point range in the third quarter to push the team from Colorado to a 64-43 lead. Van de Graaf's nine points in the fourth quarter capped off a double-digit win.
