PUEBLO, Colo. – The 2024-25 season came to an end on Saturday for the Colorado School of Mines Women's Basketball team as the Orediggers fell to CSU Pueblo, 82-63, in the regular-season finale.
Jenna Siebert was the leading scorer for the visitors with 15 points. She also had five rebounds, four assists, zero turnovers and three steals.
Jessica Rios recorded 11 points, four rebounds, and four assists with zero turnovers.
Josephine Howery scored 10 points, grabbed six rebounds, notched three assists, and nabbed two steals. Alisha Little's 24 points, eight rebounds, and five blocks led the home team and were tops in the game.
Mines (12-16, 10-10 RMAC) had more rebounds, more assists, and fewer turnovers than CSU Pueblo (18-10, 13-7 RMAC). However, the ThunderWolves shot over 51 percent from the field, drained 10 three-pointers and only missed two free throws. The Orediggers converted just 33 percent of their shots from the field and half their free throws.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Both ties and all five lead changes took place in the first five minutes of the first quarter. By the end of the opening period, CSU Pueblo had opened a 29-18 lead despite five points and three rebounds by
Audrey Beaty. The second quarter saw Howery pour in six points on two three-pointers, but the ThunderWolves still extended their lead to 47-34. After halftime, the home team put together a 21-7 third period, and Mines entered the last 10 minutes facing a 68-41 deficit. The Oredigger trio of Siebert,
Olivia Lee, and Howery pieced together an 11-0 run to end the game. But it was not enough to extend Mines' season.
