Isaiah Castilleja joined the Mines staff as its assistant strength & conditioning coach in the summer of 2021. Prior to joining the Orediggers, Castilleja was the head strength & conditioning coach at MSU Denver, and spent seven years overall with the Roadrunners.
No stranger to Mines, Castilleja was an assistant on the S&C staff in 2011-12 working with football, volleyball, and men's soccer. He has also worked at the University of Colorado and with Steadman Hawkins, assisting with Denver Broncos players. He also assisted with other NFL, NHL, UFC and MLB athletes as well as Olympians Missy Franklin and Kara Lynn Joyce.
Castilleja holds several certifications, including National Strength and Conditioning Association-Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He also has a Sports Performance Coach certification from United States of America Weightlifting.
Castilleja graduated from MSU Denver in 2011 with his bachelor's degree in human performance and sport (exercise science) and has his master's degree from A.T. Still University in kinesiology (sports conditioning). He and his wife Renee live in Highlands Ranch with their daughter.
